Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or College Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application procedure.

Applications are now open and can shut on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must fulfill the following requirements:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a home with a combined gross family income that does not exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined domestic earnings would not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and need not submit any evidence of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open nsfas application up to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to supply the correct Id Doc numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored inside their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are learning or intend to research in a public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
